In the past few weeks, we’ve seen President Trump separate thousands of children from their parents -- and then fail to reunite families in a heartbreaking display of cruelty and incompetence.
We’ve seen him nominate a Supreme Court Justice with a troubling record on the rights of consumers, women, workers, the environment, and more. And last week, we saw an appalling betrayal of our country during his meeting with Vladimir Putin.
- Sean Casten is a scientist who’s dedicated to fighting climate change and has created clean energy jobs in Illinois. He knows that facts matter and will fight for policies informed by data, expert input, and the reality we face.
- Betsy Dirksen Londrigan’s son developed a rare, life-threatening illness at age 12 that kept him in the hospital for 24 days. She decided to run for office after her GOP opponent voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, because she believes no family should go bankrupt due to an unexpected medical emergency.
- Brendan Kelly is a Navy veteran and State’s Attorney who’s taken on some of the toughest fights -- standing up to big banks, drug companies, and public corruption. In Congress, he’ll fight for Southern Illinois’ working families.
- Lauren Underwood grew up with a heart condition that helped her understand the importance of affordable health care for all Americans with pre-existing conditions. Lauren is a registered nurse who served under President Obama to implement the Affordable Care Act.
Sean, Betsy, Brendan, and Lauren are all running in Republican-held swing districts that represent some of our best pick up opportunities this fall.
